Is there a way to transfer music from one ftp site to another? I have a private ftp site that I use to transfer music to a few friends, but bandwidth is too expensive to make it public. What I would like to be able to do is to connect my ftp server to the etree server to transfer these shows as my upload capabilities at home are very limited.

Can this be done? If so, how?

Thanks In Advance,

Paul

Hi Paul,

You have a couple ohoices. If you're a Unix or Mac OS X user, you can use lftp.

Otherwise, try our server import feature:

The server import feature didn't seem to work. I connected to my server, I picked out a show to try it out on, but no transfer. I waited a day and tried again, no transfer.

SO, I decided to do some reading and smart ftp supports FXP. I moved the files from mine to the etree upload server, drop them and the etree upload server refused the connection.

Perhaps that is why the etree utility didn't work. Could something be missconfigured or permissions set wrong since the contribution server was recently down? Perhaps when it was fixed it wasn't set to accept those connections. (big guesses here) but maybe something to look into.

Try FlashFXP. It's also an FTP client.

The best FTP Program around is FileZilla. Looks just like CuteFTP, except its 100% free!
